Claude Code makes plenty you’re meant to look at. 1 in 5 prompts often result in files that a terminal can’t show or conveniently open. Charts and pages in a scratchpad in /tmp, screenshots in a folder or deep in a session log, artifacts behind a link. Detego gathers them in one place, right above the terminal you’re already typing in.
In the terminal it’s one line, ⎿ Saved shot.png, and the picture stays in a folder you’d have to manually find. Detego notifies you via the notch with a count (or pulse) and a familiar orange glow the moment it captures it.

Sessions are named by folder, branch and start time. Inside each one, collected items are organised under the prompt that made them, so you always know which request an item belongs to.
It works the way Finder does. Arrow keys move between items and a double-click opens the file in its app.
Drop a thumbnail on the terminal and its path is pasted as the prompt. Drop it anywhere else and the file goes with it. Right-click for Reveal in Finder, Copy Path, Copy Image and more.
The session rail lists sessions beside their items. Turn stacks puts every prompt in one strip as a deck, newest first. Switch between them in Settings.
On a display without a notch, the shelf opens from the top of the screen, where a notch would be. Or choose a pill on the left, right or bottom edge in Settings: it glows when something arrives, and the same familiar shelf opens from it.
What shows up
Detego watches the folders and session logs Claude Code saves its work in, and shows the files (images, artifacts, PDFs and more) a user cannot easily and conveniently access. Text output and files in your project stay out, since your terminal and editor already show them.

Detego follows the Mac’s own habits, from Quick Look to the arrow keys, and lets you tune how it gets your attention.

FAQ
No. On a display without one, the shelf opens from the top of the screen, where a notch would be. If you'd rather, Settings can hang it from the left, right or bottom edge instead, marked by a thin line.
No. Detego never becomes the active app. It stays aside, allowing you to focus on what matters while showing you what you need to see.
Files Claude Code writes in its scratchpad, images it reads, screenshots it takes, the Artifacts it publishes, and any folders you add in Settings. Plain text output stays out, since your terminal already shows it.
Claude Code 2.1.236 or later. The pages and files Claude saves along the way only exist when Claude Code is signed in with a claude.ai account (not an API key, Bedrock or Vertex) and Artifacts are on.
Your prompts, files and paths stay on your Mac. Detego talks to its licence server only when you start the trial, activate or deactivate a licence, or check for updates, and sends the licence key, an anonymous ID for the Mac, the Mac's name and the app version. Nothing else. Details can be read in the Privacy Policy.
The shelf stops showing new items. Detego, in the meantime, keeps collecting so that you can immediately resume once you enter a valid licence key.
On the old Mac, click Deactivate in Detego's Settings › Licence, then activate the new one. If the old Mac is gone, free its seat on the Licence Manager page instead.
